Why is finding local creative talent so tricky these days?

I just finished writing my Ebook and now the only problem is to find a good book cover ,I’m trying to find a custom book cover designer near me who can bring my story to life visually but there is no one. I thought going local would make the process smoother, but it’s been harder than I expected to find someone with the right style and understanding. Has anyone here worked with a local designer they’d recommend? I’d really appreciate any suggestions or experiences!
